2011 Call for Nominations to Peer Review College

The AHRC are seeking nominations for new members to be appointed to its Peer Review College (PRC) who would be able to assess proposals submitted under AHRC’s research themes. In parallel we wish to increase the capacity of the College in specific research areas.

Peer review lies at the heart of the AHRC’s operations, and we are fully committed to the principle of peer review for the assessment of proposals to our schemes and programmes. PRC members provide expert quality reviews of proposals within their areas of expertise, which inform the AHRC’s decision making processes. As well as making an important contribution to the AHRC’s peer review processes, the experience gained by membership of the College also provides benefits to individuals, departments and higher education institutions.

For more information about Peer Review College membership please see the main PRC page.

Themes

The AHRC is seeking to appoint reviewers who have the necessary expertise to review proposals submitted within the themes. These proposals are likely to be interdisciplinary in nature so nominations from individuals who have experience of inter- or cross-disciplinary research would be welcomed. Please refer to Appendix B of the Guidance Notes for a summary of each theme. More infomation can be accessed from the links to the AHRC website below:

Connected Communities
Science in Culture
Digital Transformations in Arts and Humanities
Care for the Future: Thinking Forward through the Past

Targeted Research Areas

Nominations are also invited from those with expertise in one or more of the Research Areas listed in Appendix C of the Guidance Notes. This does not have to be their primary area of expertise.

College Groups

The AHRC categorises its peer reviewers into different groups to improve our ability to match reviewers’ expertise with proposals, and to enable us to identify reviewers who can assess certain aspects of proposals. Individuals can be nominated to join one or more of the groups listed below.

  • Academic

  • Knowledge Exchange

*Non HEI organisations might include:
