In this issue researchers at University of Bristol are creating a digitised historical archive of Penguin, whilst researchers at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth aim to create a series of related site-specific performances for three locations in North Lincolnshire and a postgraduate award holder looks at the popularity of Victorian seaside entertainment in the instantly recognisable shape of Punch and Judy.

The latest edition of our newsletter features Ian Pearson MP, and Minister of State for Science and Innovation discussing how arts and humanities research contributes to Government policy. There is also a look at some research highlights and our new 'What's On' guide to some of the exhibitions, concerts and events in which our award holders are involved over the coming months.

In this issue, 'Admission All Classes' a project which brings together the AHRC, Blackpool Council and the University of Sheffield. Also some of the neglected aspects of the Royal Mail archive are being researched for the first time and a collection of photographs taken in Tibet in the early twentieth century have been digitised, annotated and posted online to allow wider public access for the first time.

Included this time is one of the biggest collaborative research projects that the AHRC is currently funding, the Stonehenge Neolithic site. Looking to the future, rather than the past, we also bring you an update on the 'Designing for the 21st Century' research initiative. Finally, we look at the impact of our post-graduate Research Preparation Master's Scheme on helping to launch the career of an MA photography student.
