Please Note: Following a recent review of Knowledge Transfer at the AHRC it has been decided to close this scheme to new applicants. The last date for submission of applications for consideration under the Knowledge Transfer Fellowship scheme will be at 4.00pm on 28 January 2011.
The AHRC remains fully committed to supporting innovative knowledge exchange activity and the KT Team are happy to discuss options with potential applicants. AHRC Research Grant, Fellowship and Research Networking schemes as well as all new strategic initiatives offer significant opportunities for undertaking knowledge exchange. In addition our new Follow-on Funding scheme offers flexible funding in support of knowledge exchange, public engagement, active dissemination or commercialisation activities that arise unforeseeably during the lifespan of or following an AHRC-funded project.
Details of our new strategy for knowledge exchange will be published in due course but please see our newly launched AHRC Delivery Plan 2011-15 for context.
The Knowledge Transfer Fellowship Scheme is designed to support academics to undertake a programme of knowledge transfer activity in a flexible way. The knowledge transfer project should be planned around an existing piece of arts or humanities research which has the potential to make a significant difference beyond the world of academia. KT Fellows may work either on their own or as part of an academic team, to collaborate with, and bring tangible benefits to non-academic organisations through a process of knowledge exchange. These benefits may be economic, social or cultural in nature. Why not look at some of the Knowledge Transfer Fellowships awards we’ve made recently?
Researchers can apply to work on the project on either a full time or part time basis for between 4 months and 3 years.
The last date for submission of proposals under the Knowledge Transfer Fellowship Scheme is 4.00pm on 28 January 2011.
The assessment process for an application will take approximately 30 weeks and the earliest start date for a project should be no earlier than 9 months after submission. You should note that, on occasions where there is a delay in obtaining the peer reviews for an application, the assessment process may take longer. In such circumstances, the AHRC will contact the applicant to inform them of any delay.
Please note that all applications must be made through the cross-council Joint Electronic Submission (Je-S) System. Further information on this can be found on the Je-S helptext system. If you need any assistance using the system please contact the Je-S Helpdesk on 01793 444164 or on JeSHelp@rcuk.ac.uk.
