Funding Opportunity

Research Networks and Workshops

Summary

From 1 January 2009 the Research Networking Scheme replaces the Research Networks and Workshops Scheme (this page is for information only).

The Interdisciplinary Research Networks and Workshops scheme is designed to encourage and enable discussion and development of ideas by researchers through establishing new research networks or running a series of workshops, seminars or similar events.

Proposals with full economic costs of up to £15,000 for a period of up to one year, or with full economic costs of up to £30,000 for a period of up to two years may be submitted.

Those involving participants from the countries/regions targeted in the AHRC's International Strategy and that meet the criteria listed in the AHRC Funding Guide can submit proposals with full economic costs of up to £30,000 for workshops or £60,000 for networks. All costs over the standard scheme must be associated with the international activities. Please note that proposals involving participants from these countries/regions can be either interdisciplinary or from within a single discipline. Detailed guidance for proposals made under the UK-Korea and UK-Taiwan joint funding agreements for this scheme can be found below.

From 1 January 2009 the Research Networks and Workshops Scheme will be replaced by the Research Networking Scheme. There will no longer be any distinction between workshops or networks and the scheme threshold will become £30,000 fEC with a maximum duration of 2 years. An additional threshold of £15,000 fEC will be introduced, in addition to the
£30,000 fEC scheme limit, to cover the costs of international participation from any country, ie not only those targeted in the AHRC’s International Strategy.
