Regional Event: North, Northern Ireland & Scotland

Please note that places are limited and bookings will be on a first-come, first-served basis although as this event covers a wide area and we want to ensure all regional HEIs have a chance to attend we reserve the right to limit numbers from institutions requesting a large number of places. Where this occurs we will place names on a waiting list and notify you if space becomes available.

Places are limited so please register for a place early to avoid disappointment.

 

Collaborative and Partnership Working

This event will demonstrate the benefits of collaborative working and give you advice on building successful partnerships with a range of collaborators and researchers as well as sharing recent examples of best practice.
There will also be an opportunity for round-table discussion and award holder presentations will offer an insight into some of the AHRC-funded collaborative partnerships between academic institutions, commercial partners and museums and galleries.

AHRC Strategy and Research Showcase

The morning plenary session will focus on AHRC strategic vision and funding schemes. There will also be presentations from two AHRC-funded award holders to demonstrate the diverse range of research funded by AHRC.  The AHRC Director of Research will take questions and you will also have the opportunity to take part in Q&A with the award holders.

This session is suitable for HEI senior management, support staff working in Research Offices and those interested in applying for AHRC funding.

AHRC Afternoon Workshops

These afternoon workshops are an opportunity to take part in more focused, smaller sessions. From learning about what makes a good application to how to promote your research to the media, working internationally to discussions on the value of knowledge transfer and collaborative working, this is your opportunity to learn more about how to get the most from your research.

Vitae, the national organisation supporting professional and career development of doctoral researchers and research staff in HEIs and research institutes, will also be on hand outlining what Vitae does and the support they can provide to postgraduate researchers, research staff and staff working with these two groups in HEIs. They will also provide information on the regional Vitae hubs and the work they do.
