What is Speed Dating for Research?

Speed dating for research involves researchers and heritage and conservation practitioners submitting to the Science and Heritage Programme, research questions, interests and/or ideas on which they wish to collaborate. On the day, researchers are paired with others of similar or complimentary interests to discuss their research issues on a one-to-one basis. This could then form the basis of new partnerships and collaborations. An open networking session follows at the end of the one-to-one sessions, giving attendees the opportunity for additional networking, to examine the list of research questions submitted by everyone attending on the day and to have follow-up meetings if required.

 What will you get?

•       Lunch
•       Two 20-minute, pre-arranged one-to-one meetings with the closest match to your interests
•       The opportunity to post on a notice board other questions, problems, ideas and projects
•       A dossier containing all of this information (to be sent to you after the event)

Who should attend?

•       Researchers or practitioners who wish to form innovative new research partnerships
•       Heritage end-users seeking collaborators or partners with whom they can apply to the Science and Heritage Programme for funding
•       Anyone interested in finding out more about research collaboration

Please ensure that completed forms are returned by 1st April 2009 so that potential collaborators can be identified in time for the event.
