Angie Hobbs is the UK’s first senior fellow in the public understanding of philosophy, charged with bringing philosophy to as wide an audience as possible in Britain and beyond. As well as her wide-ranging work in print and broadcast media, she is exploring the place of philosophy in areas well beyond the university and its importance to a wide range of questions in education, health, the environment and much else. As she says “Philosophy offers us a wide range of historical 'answers' to the big questions - for instance looking at what the ancient Greeks said about how humans can best live together.”
In this podcast interview she explains why philosophy is important to us all and how it can, as she puts it, “help people make their own lives a bit more interesting a bit richer and more full.”
