Philosophical insights into disease and illness are beginning to impact upon health professionals and inspire new ways of treating patients. In this podcast, Dr Havi Carel - senior lecturer in Philosophy at the University of the West of England and recipient of AHRC funding – explains how insights afforded by phenomenology are being used to explore the perspective of the sick person and, by working closely with health care professionals, influence the ways sick people are treated.
