8th November 2008 Noise of the Past - a poetic journey of war, memory & dialogue. Launch event

 08 Nov 2008

Noise of the Past is a creative engagement with post-colonial histories of war, principally funded by the AHRC.  This public event comes on the back of the AHRC supported research and comprises a screening of ‘Unravelling’ - A film by Kuldip Powar, with original score by Nitin Sawhney and a performance of ‘Post-Colonial War Requiem’ - composed by Francis Silkstone.  Noise of the Past presents two new related commissions produced from a creative call-and-response method to cast a different light on war and the art of dialogue.

The launch event takes place on November 8th at Coventry Cathedral, Priory St, CV1 5AB, 7pm - 9.30pm (Free event & reception).

Unravelling will continue to be screened 11–23 November 2008, The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Jordan Well, Coventry, CV1 5QP. www.theherbert.org
