Discussion Topics

 

Public debate: Collaborative Research: New Knowledge and New Challenges 

The public debate will take the discussion beyond the specific CDA funding scheme to reflect more generally upon inter-disciplinary and inter-institutional research collaboration. It will contextualise the work of the CDA scheme and encourage reflection upon the broader implications and potentiality of collaborative research.

Confirmed speakers are:

  • Professor Nigel Llewellyn, Head of Research at the Tate
  • Professor Sara Arber, Co-Director of the Centre for Research on Ageing and Gender, Department of Sociology, University of Surrey.
  • Professor Christopher Breward, Acting Head of Research, V&A
  • Professor Shearer West, Director of Research, Arts and Humanities Research Council

 

Plenary Session: Collaborative Research - Expectations, Processes and Outcomes

Following on from the theoretical reflection on day one and teh 'CDA Approaches' conference held in November 2008 in London, the speakers will explore methodological and practical questions that arose in their own collaborations and refer them to the expectations of, and the relationship between, institutions and people involved.

The speakers are:

The Future of Collaborative Research at the Arts and Humanities Research Council
