Teachers Exhibition Tent, Art in Action

Mirka will be exhibiting her current work at Art in Action. Resulting form her MA at Bath Spa University and her residency work at Salisbury Arts Centre the focus of her practice is now principally on colour. Her forms are designed to act as vehicles for the colour they display. Colour juxtapositions of nesting bowls explore visual effects and illusions, whilst her drinking vessels offer the user the enjoyment of one colour at a time. This body of work is designed to communicate new potential for colour in ceramics both in the range of colours attainable and in its ability to express a concept beyond common utility.  It represents aspects of Colour Theory in action.
