Networking, Influence and Multi-partner funding

The AHRC is part of several international collaborations that involve multiple partners. These have a variety of aims – from providing funding opportunities for transnational research involving more than one country, to networking with other funding organisations on policy or other collaborations.

  • HERA (Humanities in the European Research Area)
    HERA is a network of 24 organisations across Europe that provides funding for large trans-national research grants and promotes humanities research
  • JPI Cultural Heritage
    The JPICH is a partnership of 18 countries (plus 7 observer countries) that aims to identify a common vision for Cultural Heritage research among EU member states and Associated Countries, and to implement that vision through the agreement of a Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) for Cultural Heritage in Europe.
  • Digging into Data
    Collaboration across USA, Canada, UK, and the Netherlands to fund the development and deployment of innovative research techniques in large-scale data analysis for the humanities.
  • Newton Fund
    The Newton Fund is a new initiative intended to strengthen research and innovation partnerships between the UK and emerging knowledge economies.
  • Trans-Atlantic Platform for Social Sciences and Humanities
    Project networking funders in Europe and the Americas with the long term aim of increasing research collaboration.
  • EqUIP - European Platform for Social Sciences and Humanities
    Project linking funders in Europe and India with the long term aim of increasing research collaboration.
  • Science Europe
    AHRC are a member of Science Europe, an association of European organisations that aims to strengthen the European Research Area.
