What Works Centre for Wellbeing

The AHRC is working with a range of partners, including the ESRC, Public Health England, DCMS, Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery Fund and English Heritage, to establish an independent ‘What Works Centre’ on Wellbeing. The Centre will seek to enhance understanding and the evidence base on the impact of policy and practice interventions / initiatives (including those involving the creative, cultural, heritage and community sectors) on wellbeing and to support the use of this understanding and evidence in community, policy and practice contexts.

New Generation Thinkers 2015

This pioneering scheme aims to develop a new generation of academics who can bring the best of university research and scholarly ideas to a broad audience – through BBC broadcasting. It’s a chance for early career researchers to cultivate the skills to communicate their research findings to those outside the academic community.

Partnership for Conflict, Crime and Security Research: Leadership Fellow for the Conflict Theme

The AHRC, working with the ESRC and other RCUK partners, is seeking to appoint a Leadership fellow for a three year period to provide intellectual leadership and strategic advice on the development of the new Conflict Theme within the Partnership for Conflict, Crime and Security Research (RCUK Global Uncertainties Programme) (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Partnership’).

Policy Internships

Closing Date: 18/08/2014

NERC, in collaboration with the Biotechnology & Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC), organise internship placements for current NERC, BBSRC and AHRC funded PhD students to work in one of eight host organisations on a policy topic relevant to both the student and the host.
